Privacy Policy
ONE LEVEL — ABSOLUTE is a free browser game published under the AresX Technologies name. This policy explains what information is used when you visit playonelevel.com, play the game or use its leaderboard. The current version does not require an email/password account and does not load advertising or analytics scripts.
Information the game uses
- Leaderboard details: if you submit an eligible Challenge completion, the service stores your chosen nickname, a random player ID, your best accepted completion time, a broad platform label (PC or Android) and the time the record was updated. Your nickname, time and platform may appear on the public leaderboard. Your player ID is not shown on the public board.
- Information saved in your browser: the game may remember your player ID and nickname, sound and control settings, local statistics and progress, reaction-test best, and a cached copy of the website’s daily Top 10. Session storage may remember whether an introductory animation has already played in the current tab.
- Technical information: the website host and service providers may process ordinary connection and security information, such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages and timestamps, to deliver and protect the service.
Please choose a nickname that does not reveal your real name, email address, phone number, location or other personal details. A player ID is a browser-level identifier, not a verified identity or a recoverable account. Clearing browser storage or changing devices may create a new ID.
Why this information is used
Browser storage keeps your preferences and local progress. Leaderboard information is used to record eligible completions, keep each player’s fastest accepted time, calculate in-game rankings and publish the website’s daily Top 10. Technical information may be used by service providers to operate, secure and troubleshoot the site.
Leaderboard timing
Eligible personal-best records are processed when a run is submitted. The in-game leaderboard reads the current records. The website’s public Top 10 is a separate snapshot that refreshes daily at 00:00 UTC, so a new result may not appear on the website until the next refresh.
Browser storage
The game uses your browser’s local storage and session storage for the functions described above. It does not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser and hosting provider may still use technical storage or security mechanisms as part of normal website operation. You can clear or block site data in your browser settings; doing so may reset local settings, progress, nickname, player ID and the cached leaderboard. Clearing browser storage does not delete a leaderboard record already stored on the server.
Service providers
Cloudflare provides website hosting and runs the leaderboard API and daily snapshot. MongoDB Atlas stores leaderboard records. The landing page loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser may request font files directly from Google. These providers may process technical information needed to deliver their services and have their own privacy policies: Cloudflare, MongoDB and Google.
The current version does not intentionally sell personal information, run analytics trackers or serve advertisements. If advertising or analytics are introduced later, this policy will be updated and any legally required choices or consent controls will be provided before they are enabled.
Retention and deletion requests
Browser information stays on your device until you clear it or your browser removes it. Leaderboard records are kept while the leaderboard operates, unless a record is removed following a request, moderation, a security issue or a legal requirement. The hosting and database providers may keep technical logs under their own settings and policies.
You can ask for a leaderboard record to be removed by emailing support@playonelevel.com. Include your nickname and enough information to identify the record, such as the approximate completion time. Do not send passwords or unrelated personal information. Because nicknames are not unique and there are no user accounts, we may need a little more detail to identify the correct record.
Children and safety
Do not include personal information in a nickname or submit information that you do not want displayed publicly. If you are under the age at which you may lawfully consent to the relevant data processing where you live, ask a parent or guardian to review the game and its leaderboard before submitting a ranked result. If you believe information has been submitted improperly, contact us so we can review the request.
Security and updates
Database credentials are intended to remain on the server and access to leaderboard records is restricted through the service configuration. No internet service can guarantee perfect security. This policy may change when the game or its providers change; the date above will be updated when the text is revised.
